While my name, Cynthia Lazar, may not ring many bells outside of the community surrounding my Lake County family law practice, those who are acquainted with me know that I am an experienced and compassionate lawyer dedicated to representing clients in child custody, divorce, modification, mediation, child support, spousal support and other family law matters.
As an attorney devoted solely to family law for more than 20 years, I have supported hundreds of clients through life changing legal events like divorces. In addition to practicing divorce law, I am a certified family law mediator and an avid child advocate. I am also a member of the Lake County Referral List for the Lilac Tree, a nonprofit resource organization dedicated to educating women about the divorce process, which allows me to use my intimate knowledge of family law to help others in my community.
My firm, The Law Office of Cynthia L. Lazar, will work diligently to protect your interests, your property and your children. In the end, it is your future that is at stake in the outcome of any family law litigation, specifically when I assume the following roles:
- Divorce law attorney - Even though the road to divorce is not easy, I will guide you down it and address your concerns about child custody, spousal or child support, property division and other financial matters.
- Divorce modification attorney - Situations change, so if you need to modify your finalized divorce decree or need help enforcing it, I can assist you.
- Divorce mediation lawyer - Because I am a certified family law mediator, I can work with you to explore alternative options to divorce litigation.
- Child custody lawyer - Child custody is often a central issue in a divorce and, with my experience, I can help you determine what is in the best interests of the child.
- Child support lawyer - Using the statutory formulas to figure out child support payments, I will calculate what you owe, or what you are owed, depending on the custody arrangement.
- Spousal support or alimony attorney - While spousal maintenance, or alimony, is not guaranteed in the event of a divorce, I will fight so you get what you deserve.
I decided to create this blog to further leverage my many years of experience in family law to better serve people living outside of my immediate locale of Lake County, Illinois. I will write blog posts about family law issues and newsworthy events, particularly related to divorce, mediation, and child custody and support issues, on a consistent basis. I hope this shows my commitment to educating spouses and parents who may need legal representation now or in the future.
